The Pastor is responsible to the church for providing spiritual and administrative leadership of the church as a New Testament Church; and is to use his skills in proclamation and pastoral care to meet the needs of persons in the church and community.  To fulfill the Great Commission as outlined in Matthew 28.



  1. Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
  2. Minimum of 5 years pastoral/ministerial experience, with experience managing multiple staff and as lead administrator for church/ministry


  1. Master's in Divinity
  2. Graduate of Southern Baptist Seminary or College


            Provide Spiritual Leadership

  •     Preach the Gospel with the goal of reaching people for Christ fostering academic, emotional, social, and spiritual growth
  •     Plan and implement worship for  all Sunday services (morning and evening), Wednesday night Bible studies, ordinances, funerals, weddings and          other ministries
  •     Inspire members to develop a passion for God and generate a desire for servitude
  •     Encourage members to love one another and their neighbors without bias or prejudice
  •     Instill biblical principles of stewardship and support of local, state, North American and Foreign missions
  •     To be actively involved and supportive of the Cape Fear Network of Baptist Churches, the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina and the               Southern Baptist Convention in its work and ministries

              Provide Pastoral Leadership

  •     Visit and minister to members and prospective members in homes, nursing care facilities and hospitals
  •     Provide leadership and training to deacons and ministerial staff to carry out the mission and vision of the church throughout the Wrightsboro               Community, New Hanover County, and surrounding areas
  •     Attend monthly deacon meetings
  •     Provide pastoral counseling to members/others in times of crisis and refer to appropriate resources and maintain confidentiality of these                      communications
  •     Serve as ex-officio member on church committees as designated by the Church Constitution and By-Laws, providing guidance in accordance with      the mission and vision of the church
  •     Encourage persons, programs, and ministries of the church

              Provide Outreach Leadership

  •     Train, organize and lead members to visit and witness to unchurched persons
  •     Participate in the visitation ministry of church
  •     Set example in cultivating unchurched persons
  •     Plan and develop basic church programs/ministries along with regular outreach/revival emphasis to reach the unchurched as well as the churched

             Provide Administrative Leadership

  •     Attend church conferences; Senior Pastor serves as Assistant Moderator to all called church conferences
  •     Plan monthly/annual calendar
  •     Develop policies that would help members participate in an orderly manner
  •     Oversee and provide appropriate leadership to ministerial and administrative staff
  •     Designate person to fill the pulpit in absence of Senior Pastor (ex. bereavement, revivals continuing education, etc.)
  •     Maintain church office hours for the benefit of all church members, the community and related business of the church; or ensure that an ordained        minister or senior pastor designee is covering during office hours in times of absence; the church administrator should be informed as to how to          contact the pastor (cell phone number)
