Tim is the Bible Study teacher for the 50 and up class that serves singles and couples. He has been teaching and/or leading Bible study for over 40 years (17 years at WBC). He is an ordained Southern Baptist minister and has served at Wrightsboro Baptist Church as Deacon and most recently as Directional Elder. Professionally he is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in NC with under-graduate and graduate degrees in Psychology and Marriage and Family Therapy with a special emphasis on faith-integrated Psychology and Marriage and Family Therapy and holds a Ph.D. degree in Christian Counseling. He is married for 45 years to his wife Betty Sue Smith and they have two adult children, Andrea and Rachel, and two grandchildren. Tim was employed with the Baptist Children’s Homes of NC and Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center (CareNet Counseling Center). Tim served in the US Army and is a Viet Nam Era veteran and a veteran of Operation Desert Storm. He retired in 2023 from Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune where he worked with active duty Marines and Sailors who had deployed and served during OEF and OIF (the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq). Tim is chair of the Personnel Committee, Associate Moderator, ushers during Sunday morning services, and serves on the WBC Church Council. His passion is his family, his faith, church missions, Bible Study, Pastoral Counseling and golfing with friends. Please join us for interactive Bible Study!
