Preschool and Children’s Department- Sunday morning Life Groups
Leslie James – Preschool and Children’s Director/ Teacher
Leslie has been a member of Wrightsboro Baptist Church for 12 years. She accepted Christ when she was 13 years old at a youth camp. In addition to being the Preschool and Children’s Director since 2013, she teaches the Children’s kindergarten through second grade Sunday morning Life Group class. Leslie has been teaching Children’s Bible Study classes for 10 years.
As the Preschool and Children’s Director, Leslie is part of the staff at WBC. She serves in many capacities at the church. She is in charge of Vacation Bible School each summer, plans all children’s programs, and overseas the planning of church events.
Outside of her duties at church, she enjoys gardening, decorating, crafts and planning other events. Leslie has lived in the Wilmington area her whole life. She has been married for 20 years to Chris and has 3 children. Jesse and Olivia serve in the audiovisual ministry of WBC. Brianna is actively involved in Youth Praise Team. Leslie has a deep love for Jesus and children. She loves helping the children learn about Jesus and the Bible. She believes every child is special.
Amber Goodyear – Assistant Director Preschool Department (Birth – Four Year Olds)
Amber has been a follower of Christ and a member of Wrightsboro Baptist Church (WBC) since 2004. She has been working in the Sunday Morning Preschool Department since 2002. Amber is also actively involved in many capacities at WBC, including women’s ministries, and activities that involve children's programs such as AWANA and Upward Basketball.
Amber is on the WBC staff as Camp Director of our children’s afterschool and summer program. She graduated from Mid-Atlantic Christian University in 2020, with a double major in Youth and Family Ministry, and Biblical Exposition. She enjoys going to the beach, doing crafts, being in nature, and kayaking. She loves Jesus and shares the love of Jesus with children. She enjoys hearing kids sing about Jesus and hearing kids learn about the Bible.
